Aqua 5 invites you to join them on a dive adventure through the crystal-clear waters of the Great Barrier Reef & Whitsundays, located in the beautiful state of Queensland. With 74 islands to explore, there''s something for everyone, from beginner to advanced divers.
The Whitsundays is known for its beautiful fringing coral reef, teeming with marine life and colorful corals. You''ll have the opportunity to encounter a variety of tropical fish, such as the Maroi wrasse, Queensland grouper, Batfish, parrotfish, and angel and butterfly fish, all of which indicate a healthy coral reef system. In addition, you may also encounter hawksbill turtles, olive sea snakes, featherstars, wobbiegong sharks, and reef sharks. The Whitsundays is also home to a vast range of nudibranchs, with over 700 species found in Australia, and a large range located in the Whitsundays.
One of our favorite dive sites is Black Island, which offers a gentle drift dive along the reef slope close to the island. The site is known for its healthy and diverse range of hard and soft corals, as well as shallow caves, gullies, and ledges to explore. The conditions at this site are perfect for a variety of marine life, making it a must-see for any diver visiting the area.
Please note that divers who have not dived in the past 24 months will need to take a refresher/reactivate training prior to diving. Additionally, medical waivers are required on the boat, and it is important to check this link to determine if you require a medical clearance prior to diving.
