Discover the natural beauty and rich history of Western Australia''s first national park, John Forrest, on a 10 km guided hike with The Hike Collective. This family-friendly adventure takes you through the park''s highlights, including the Swan View tunnel, wildflowers, waterfalls, and dams.
Experience magnificent views of the city, the rush of water on the multiple waterfalls during winter, and the secret history of the tunnel, ''fairy villages,'' and ''swimming pools'' of the early 1900s. Observe plenty of wildlife, including native birds, kangaroos, and bandicoots, while the wildflowers color the landscape in the springtime.
Your ticket includes a guided hike along the Railway Reserves Heritage Trail, historical stories and secrets of the fascinating hiking trail, personalized recommendations for local cafes and restaurants, a great experience with Perth''s award-winning hiking tour operator, and a friendly and knowledgeable, first aid trained tour guide.
John Forrest National Park is located about 30 minutes East of Perth. Leave Perth on the Great Eastern Highway and head up the Green mount Hill. The park lies to the north of the highway and is well signposted. Meet at the main carpark past the pub and look for The Hike Collective sign to check-in!
This hike is a grade 3, and no hiking experience is required. However, a degree of fitness is recommended due to the length. Hiking shoes or comfortable trainers, water bottle, sun protection, hat, head torch, hiking poles, and national park entry fees are required. Public toilets are available at the hike location carpark. As this is a national park, no dogs are allowed.
We Wander is proud to partner with The Hike Collective, offering their unique experiences to our community. Their commitment to providing exceptional hiking experiences aligns with our mission to connect travelers with local experiences, curated by local experts. Join us on this unforgettable adventure in Western Australia''s first national park.
